ePropulsion kLite 750 Electric Kayak Motor

The ePropulsion kLite 750 is a purpose-built electric kayak motor and electric outboard designed specifically for fishing kayaks and recreational kayaks. Unlike a conventional kayak trolling motor adapted from a larger boat, the kLite 750 combines a 500W continuous electric motor, up to 750W Boost power, and an integrated 378Wh lithium-ion battery into one compact, self-contained system. No separate battery box, long power cables, or unnecessary deck clutter.

With a lightweight design, shallow-water capability, kayak-specific stern mounting, and precise low-speed Fish Mode, the ePropulsion kLite 750 is designed for kayak anglers who want quiet, efficient electric propulsion without the weight and complexity of a traditional trolling motor setup.

Key Features of the kLite 750

  • 500W continuous power / 750W Boost for cruising and temporary high-power operation

  • Integrated 378Wh lithium-ion battery eliminates the need for a separate motor battery

  • 14.3 lb motor and battery, with approximately 19.4 lb total system weight including the mount

  • Shallow-water operation to approximately 7 inches

  • Fish Mode (~0–200W) for slow trolling, fishing structure, positioning, and precise boat control

  • Go Mode up to 500W for efficient everyday cruising

  • Boost/Sport Mode up to 750W for temporary high-power operation

  • Soft-Lock reverse up to 300W for controlled backing and maneuvering

  • IP67-rated motor and battery for freshwater and saltwater use

  • Standard 4-bolt stern mount compatible with many kayak motor mounting systems

  • 10.9-inch motor height adjustment range

  • Track-mounted throttle and color display

  • Rudder-shaped motor housing provides passive steering assistance when the throttle is off

Electric Motor Built for Fishing Kayaks

The kLite 750 is more than a conventional trolling motor for a kayak. It was engineered specifically for the narrow, lightweight, shallow-water environment of a fishing kayak. The integrated battery keeps your deck cleaner and eliminates the need to carry a large external battery.

Fish Mode provides low-speed precision for slow trolling, holding position in light current, working weed edges, or maneuvering around structure without rushing through the strike zone. Soft-Lock reverse provides up to 300W of reverse thrust for backing out of tight areas and correcting your position without spinning the kayak.

A rubber leading-edge boot helps protect the motor and reduce impact noise when encountering submerged structure, rocks, or dock pilings. The rudder-shaped housing also provides steering assistance while drifting with the throttle off.

Kayak Motor Power Modes

Fish Mode (~0–200W): Precise low-speed control for fishing, positioning, and maximum battery efficiency.

Go Mode (up to 500W): Continuous power for everyday cruising between fishing spots.

Boost/Sport Mode (up to 750W): Temporary high-power operation for headwinds, open-water crossings, or short bursts of speed. Boost is available when the battery is at or above 50% charge and within normal operating temperature.

Integrated Battery, Charging & Range

The kLite 750 features an integrated 378Wh, 25.2V lithium-ion battery built directly into the motor housing. The battery is not removable for separate charging. The included 100–240V charger takes approximately 4 hours to charge from empty.

The motor cannot run directly from an external battery. The optional eLite/kLite Range Extension Kit allows a compatible 12V battery to charge the integrated battery at up to 100W while on the water.

Manufacturer testing on a Crescent Kayaks Lite Tackle 2 produced approximately:

  • 19W: 2 mph, 19 hr 54 min runtime, 40-mile range

  • 133W: 4 mph, 2 hr 48 min runtime, 11-mile range

  • 500W: 5.5 mph, 48 min runtime, 4-mile range

  • 750W Boost: 6 mph, 15 min runtime, 1.5-mile range

Actual speed, runtime, and range vary with kayak hull design, total weight, wind, current, water conditions, propeller depth, and battery state. These are manufacturer test results, not guaranteed performance.

Shallow-Water Kayak Motor

The kLite 750 can operate in approximately 7 inches of water, making it well suited to shallow flats, tidal areas, backwater creeks, and other skinny-water fishing environments. Motor height adjusts across a 10.9-inch range to accommodate different kayak hulls and water conditions.

The standard 4-bolt stern mounting pattern works with many kayak motor mounts. Fit is not universal, however. Some kayaks may require an adapter plate, reinforcement, or custom mounting solution. Always verify stern configuration and kayak weight capacity before purchasing.

What's Included

The kLite 750 package includes the electric motor with integrated 378Wh battery, motor mount and hardware, 100–240V charger, cord cleat, motor-lift handle, track-mounted throttle and cables, color display with track hardware and sun shade, magnetic kill switch, and spare kill-switch magnet.

Optional accessories include the foot-control steering kit, throttle mounting plate, spare propeller, and eLite/kLite Range Extension Kit.

Game changer!

I’ve tried several different motors for my kayak. By far, the K-lite is the best. It is lightweight, easiest to put on/ take off, and surprisingly enough, the battery lasts for a long time in fish mode. 3 watts pushes my rig at a good speed to pick apart the Ocmulgee or Yellow rivers. Fished 5hrs last Saturday over a mile or so on the river, and had over 75% battery left. My kayak is an older Old Town Topwater 106, and the K-lite pushes it at 6.1mph in boost mode, 5.5mph at 500w. On my kayak setup, it runs in about 9” of water with no dragging. It ain’t the cheapest option for powering your kayak but it will be the best money spent if you’re looking to keep your rig lightweight and easy enough to load/unload in a truck bed, or drag over shallow shoals. Zero regrets about the purchase and zero regrets about dealing with Tiny Boat Nation!
