I purchased the 1436 Framing only option, The convenience of this kit is great, and the quality of the materials is good. I had plenty of aluminum to build what I wanted and some extra. I chose this kit over one of the "starter" kits to build a modest front and rear deck on a 16 ft Jon boat. Shipping was quick and the materials were packaged well. I'm pleasantly surprised by how strong this 1/16 aluminum angle is.

Bought this kit for my first attempt at deep V sea nymph removable casting deck… kit came with everything it’s listed with and materials are quality. Just wish it came with a little bit more of everything Because not everyone knows how to build ultra light and if you never built one before you will have errors.. buy a little extra with this kit

Hello, I was wondering does the kit come with instructions? And also does it come with the jon boat body and all the things to build it? or do i have to buy a body sepretly?

No instructions, we are a video based company so all install videos are on youtube.
The kit is for the interior components only, you must already have a hull. Down in the description of the product there is an itemized list of all the components that come with the kit. Thank you

What tools are required for installation? And depending on the package, do some directions come for a generic build?
Hello Mike,
You will need something to cut the angle and tube aluminum - we typically use a chop saw but in the early days we used an angle grinder with a cutting wheel.
No instructions, all of our instructions are video based on youtube or in the product links on the website

Weight of this product? Ability and ease to launch on side of lake versus boat launch?
The kit will add about 60-120 lbs of weight to your current boat depending on which kit and setup you go with. As long as you have a couple strong people or a trailer you can get close to the shoreline and use a winch, you could totally launch this size boat by hand or without a ramp.

I have a 1436 War eagle from 2012. I want to add a casting deck to the front as well as a small deck on top of that just big enough for trolling motor and pod lights. How would you recommend I do this

The 1436 weekend warrior kit would be a great option and take a lot of the guess work out of the materials you may need. We also have a really good video that will help give you an idea of how it all goes together

Good question! The 1436 Jon Boat Aluminum Build Kit includes the main build components for your setup, but wiring and safety kit items are typically not included. These are usually added separately so you can customize your electrical setup exactly how you want it.
