Easy installation. Works well for what I’ve used so far. Haven’t tried the mapping yet. Not ideal but I’ve been using it on the transom for the time being and it still is way better than using the tiller handle.

My wife and I just purchased a camp on the Alleghany River! My AUTOBOAT works perfect! I can Nav up the shoreline casting! See the sweet spot and hit Anchor lock & put a couple extra casts in that spot!

This thing is awesome!!! easy to hook up and turn your boat,kayak,canoe,raft,sup whatever you want that has a transom into a smart fishing machine!

I have a 14ft old aluminum StarCraft v hull Jon boat and the AutoBoat has made it fishable like a full size bass boat. Before I was running a MK Endura max transom mount off to the side with a 15hp Evinrude in the middle and I made it work for a few years but the constant need for adjusting course when trying to fish banks or even trolling was tiresome and legit made my neck and shoulders hurt after being out all day.

I got the AutoBoat and moved it to the front with a clamp on style “EZ Mount” and it works beautifully. So much more maneuverable from the bow and all the features Auto Boat has are exactly what you need. I mostly got it for spot lock but after using it and realizing how awesome the Navigate feature is for bank fishing I ended up using that a ton. Then I’d get a fish and throw it on anchor mode and didn’t have to worry about it. Before AutoBoat I’d get a fish and be fighting the fish and my boat especially in the wind.

Super easy to install and everything is incredibly responsive. I love the remote control and have experienced zero issues. Everything just simply works. Only thing I’ve noticed is that in calm conditions the spot lock doesn’t do as well to keep you in position, like you’ll drift off point a little further than in breezier/windier conditions before it makes and adjustment. It actually works better with a little bit of air movement. But that’s no big deal and I’m sure with firmware updates that’s possible to upgrade the logic.

After I got used to using the remote and got everything all dialed in I was so much more relaxed and comfortable. Ended up landing my new PB and had a blast the first time out with it.

If you’re on the fence and in a similar situation as I was, just get it. It really had the features that make everything so much easier to manage where you can enjoy the actual fishing more.

Your instructions were very easy to follow. I have installed the smart head on my trolling motor and motor on one of my kayaks. Would highly recommend it for others that want to upgrade.

The installation took approximately 30 minutes on a Minn Kota Riptide and I used 3 tools. Super easy but I had watched several install videos beforehand.

Everything worked perfectly first time. Plug and play as long as you follow the instructions provided.

I’ve had it out for one trip approximately 3 hours and I’m super impressed. I have a large fishing paddle board with motor bow mounted. Spot lock and navigation were accurate. 10 speeds to choose from instead of 5 with the stock powerhead. It is such an upgrade to steer and control speed with a remote!!

I enjoyed the 1st gen AUTOBOAT with the seperate GPS puck, and external ECU and cables from 2023. I now have the 2nd Gen Smart Head and...WOW! All I do now is mount the motor in my front pedal slot, and plug and play!

Weather finally good enough to give it a try. Anchor mode worked great on my Hobie PA12 in a 15 to 25 mph wind. I have it on a 30lb thrust MK and I'm set up to easily move it between the kayak and a jon boat. Very impressed so far!

We have a 1974 Classic 13 Boston whaler that has been restored and I was shopping for a trolling motor system for the bow, keeping the boats age in mind and the desire NOT to drill or install any screws that I didn’t have to into the hull; I started out with a Newport NV55 mounted on stern; then I found
Tiny Boat Nation and their AutoBoat GPS smart head.
I was skeptical that this system would work as well as the bow mount trolling motors on the market.
But I bought it anyway in Sept. 2024 and received it late Nov. 2024
After receiving I crafted a custom bridle type mount that slips over front gunwale and uses the Norman pin as an anchor. (got this idea from a fella on YouTube)
After making mount and moving trolling motors to bow this GPS head was/is absolutely AMAZING!!
It controls my 13’ fiberglass whaler just great!
Used most of winter and love its performance, remote not the best ( lags in response)but responds great with app control.
Recently I had an issue with the drive mechanism; the primary gear is made of plastic and beams loose on its drive shaft allowing shaft to spin but not gear.
Notified TBN via chat, they sent me a new Gen2 complete head unit with upgraded primary gear (it’s metal now). They could’ve sent me a part to repair my drive mechanism but they sent a WHOLE NEW UNIT; that’s GREAT man!!!
This new unit also has some other small revisions I thought was nice, like smaller remote with better buttons ergo better response form head unit when using handheld remote.

This thing is awesome. It's super compact considering what it does. I have only ran it on the transom offset from my outboard. Don't do that unless you have too. If you spot lock, it will pull you backwards in small circles. Yet, it maintained position fairly well, given the location (GPS doesn't work that well in the Little Muskingum valley.) and configuration. Driving with the remote was no problem. I strongly suggest bow mounting if you, like me, were thinking otherwise. Sure it will work to a point on the stern, but why not use all of the features? I designed an adapter to mount it flush to the bow of my Lowe L1240 and printed it out of nylon carbon fiber. I will get to run it on the bow in the next day or so.

The new Gen 2 Autoboat is amazing. I think its the best mod available for kayaks and small boats. Does everything the 2k-3k trolling motors do. Turn on the Navigate mode and hands free fishing down a bank. Makes kayak fishing so much better

I love the unit on my endure 55 with a bow mount The only thing is that the new hand remote the buttons are sticking.

Received the Autoboat and installed it on my 14 foot boat. Works exactly as advertised. It was so nice to be able to fish again!

The smart head is as advertised it was very easy to install and worked very well on the lake , while I did run into some quirkiness when I needed to back up to un snag a line that got hung up, but it still was a blast to have on the water, I love it! It definitely is a game changer and makes navigating the lake’s I fish on so much easier. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy being out there now and not having to constantly adjust the trolling motor when I am trying to tie a new jig on is worth every penny! Spot lock is flawless, I never had an anchor before and that really bugged my wife lol to the point where she just wanted me to drop her off on the bank. Spot lock has saved my marriage 🤣🤣🤣, The Autoboat smart head was a smart decision!

Decided to buy this and pair it with a new Endura C2 34lbs of thrust trolling motor. It was the largest size motor that would fit through my Hobie kayak pedal drive slot. This thing is AWESOME! Love the fact that you can chase down a school of bait fish (it is faster than I thought it would be) and then spot lock for some fly fishing! Here is a legit first test run video... it works like a champ!

Hands down the greatest addition to my soloskiff. From anchoring to trolling around the lake while fly fishing or bass fishing simultaneously. This systems paired perfectly with the endura c2 50# thrust. I do recommend this setup to anyone that’s interested. It’s a fraction of the cost of the big name brands and has pretty much the same offerings.

This is the tool you didn't know you needed. I have mine installed on a 20' pontoon with a 50# Endura. Installation on the motor itself took less than 5 mknutes. Works phenominal. Not only does the anchor mode now let me fish out in the deeper water in the middle of the lakes without disturbing the fish by setting down an anchor but with the wireless remote I can now use the trolling motor to swing the nose of the boat around from the helm to help navigate really tight canals that were more challenging before. It's quite an investment but worth it for anyone who's serious about fishing!

Transformed my transom mount 1996 Minn Kota Riptide 55 into bow mounted awesomeness! My boat is a 1991, 15 foot Smokercraft side console. I had two black and two red wires coming out of my trolling motor to the head. I didn’t have any other colors, so I soldered black to black and red to red and put that into my Autoboat head. Works perfectly.

My old solid metal transom mount had to be replaced with the new style of plastic ones in order to properly tilt the trolling motor. The old mount didn’t allow the Autoboat turning motor to tilt onto the front deck.

We went out on the lake for the first time today and caught four nice trout trolling with the new head. So much more room without having to use a tiller handle. So much easier when one pole got a fish to control everything with a remote and not worry about steering the tiller handle.

Control is effortless and the anchor mode held us in the wind great. Even when it was gusting and inconsistent and was dragging us on our physical anchor. It kept us on the fish like a champ!

So very worth it!
