The hydro turf is high quality

I went with the pontoon version because it came in a larger sheet, was really easy to lay. I used gorilla glue to attach it to my deck. It comes with a sticky backside but I wanted to make sure it never came up

I really like the black hex I live in Iowa where it can be in ninety’s during summer will that color get hot being out in the sun?

Tiny Boat Nation

Hello Corbin,

Black surfaces do absorb more heat than lighter colors in direct sunlight. so yes, the black hex will get warmer than, say, a gray or lighter option. In Iowa summers hitting the 90s°F, it could feel noticeably hot underfoot, especially on a boat sitting in direct sun.

That said, a few things to keep in mind:

HydroTurf is designed for marine use, so it's built to handle sun and heat exposure
Water contact (splashing, wet feet) will cool it down quickly
Ventilation on the water typically helps keep surfaces cooler than on land. Hope this helps. Thanks!
