Introducing the AUTOBOAT SMART HEAD,combining the best core features of the legacy AUTOBOAT units. This unit is not only more accurate, but much easier to install and less problematic over time. No more having to worry about room to store the legacy components because all components are now inside a sealed head. This head has a universal fit-collar that will mount onto any trolling motor from our approved list below. Please view the video above to get feel for this unit's new features.
WARNING: THIS WILL ONLY WORK ON SELECT TRANSOM MOUNT TROLLING MOTORS! THIS WILL NOT WORK ON BOW MOUNT TROLLING MOTORS (TROLLING MOTORS WITH A FOOT PEDAL - except for MinnKota Edge hand control or cutting control cables) Or anything else - NOT ON THE APPROVED LIST!If you use this product on anything other than our approved trolling motors, we will not cover the warranty.

Worth The Wait
The conversion was very straight forward and easy to do. Installed the motor on my pedal kayak and took it out on Lake Tarpon for a couple hours. It did everything as advertised and sure beats the heck out of pedaling all the time. I downloaded the phone app, but I used the remote as it was easier to work with than the phone when fishing. Would hate to drop the phone overboard and the remote with the lanyard is much safer and easier to use. A great product and well worth the money.

If you have not fished with spot lock or any north heading features, it's night and day. Great product and makes life way better on my Sun Dolphin American 12

Worth every penny.
I ordered the autoboat back in August 2024 and didn't get it till the end of January but it's been well worth the wait. I wasn't expecting top performance and response but those concerns have been put to rest. I had been fighting the current and wind and fish for years with a Minn kota 55 thrust and didn't want to spend 2k+ for a spot lock system considering my entire fishing set up was around 2k. I took the chance once I saw the smart head system because I didn't need to find a place to store the brain of the autoboat system (legacy) it just replaced the head of the trolling motor. Spot lock works very well and even better in heavy current or wind which is where it's most needed. I didn't think I would be using other system options like nav point but that's all I have been using lately.....it's amazing for following mangrove lines and dock lines and trolling. The hand remote is great but I find the buttons can be a little chunky sometimes so you may have to press down centered on the button often for it to register. I thought autoboat was going to increase weight and it's not noticable at all. It has so far been absolutely outstanding in performance and function. The app is very easy to use and manage. The smart head is built well and very durable. This upgrade has improved my fishing and ability to stay on the water longer with less effort. Most importantly the TB Nation team and costumer service is outstanding.....they responded almost instantly with helpful information/ troubleshooting and if they miss a call they call you back. My autoboat set up is on a pond prowler 10 55lb thrust Minn kota with a 3.5hp merc.

Can’t Wait
The product looks great with quality construction. I can’t install the system or use it due to the frozen lakes and ponds. I’m hoping to try asap when the weather breaks.
