    Will this adhesive work on Veithi boat trailer bunk carpet?

    Is this glue a solvent-based adhesive? I needing a glue that will bond and cure marine rubber backed 20oz carpet (purchased from TBN) to the deck of my fiberglass bass boat (2006 ProCraft). I was thinking of using Henry 663, but I called their representative and he didn't give me any confidence. He questioned if the carpet is porous for curing needs. I also called Mapie about the 420 and Roberts about the 6700 and was told no for my use situation. Both Mapie and Roberts said their glue would fail prematurely if it gets wet. Evidently, a solvent-based glue is need between two non-porous surfaces. And, if you have any suggestions, please let me know.

That means it’s safer to work with, low odor, and non flammable, but for bonding marine rubber backed carpet to fiberglass, especially between non porous surfaces, you may want to explore a true solvent based marine grade adhesive for the best long term durability. Thanks
